Oil paint on 12 by 18" canvas, this piece is inspired by a feeling of growing up fast but having a desire to embody childhood playfulness. I used bright colored clothing to represent this carefree spirit and a serious, intense facial expression to contradict it, showing the need to be “serious”. I made the composition front facing and with a grey background to emulate a traditional mugshot. The mugshot brings us back to a serious, adult concept
