Done in pen & ink on 12 by 18" Bristol. A portrait of Helen Morgan, the wife of Lee Morgan, a famous trumpet player in the 1960s. Helen Morgan enjoyed cooking and was very generous. She would always have people in her home in Harlem. She helped Lee Morgan get off the street and helped him out of drug abuse and get his career and skills to being one of the pioneers of Jazz trumpet. After Lee Morgan cheated on her, she lost control of her nerves and pulled a gun on him and shot him dead.
